Italy donates one million euros for supporting ICRC and UNHCR facing the humanitarian crisis in Fallujah

The Italian Cooperation supports the international efforts in facing the humanitarian crisis in Fallujah through two multilateral contributions for a total amount of one million euros to endorse the activities of the International Red Cross Committee (ICRC) and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). According to the latest UN’s reports, almost 90.000 people and, among them, more than 20.000 children are blocked in Fallujah without food, drinkable water and medicines.

The Italian donation of 650.000 euros will support the CIRC in all its operation of assistance of more than 1070 displaced families who suffer from hunger and critical health and psychological conditions. The remaining 350.000 euros of the total amount will be destined to the UNHCR who will use these funds to provide all the civilians running away from Fallujah with survival kits.
