COVID-19: Travel Update

Entry from Italy into Iraq:

Please note that any kind of travel to Iraq is discouraged for Italian citizens.

Procedures for obtaining an entry visa are undergoing change. It is recommended to always check with the Iraqi Embassy of your Country of origin which visa is necessary ahead of your trip. At the moment, Italian passport holders can obtain their visa apon arrival at the airport (single entry, USD 75,00). In Iraqi Kurdistan there is no visa requirement for less-than-30-day stay.

Due to the number of cases of coronavirus, the Iraqi government has introduced some risk mitigation measures, especially with regard to gatherings and the use of personal protective equipment. Measures may differ slightly in the various governorates. It is therefore recommended to inquire carefully with the competent Authorities of residence.

Travelers entering and exiting the Iraqi territory (including Iraqi Kurdistan) must provide a certificate of vaccination (green pass) to competent Authorities. A negative PCR COVID-19 is no longer requested.

In Iraqi Kurdistan there are currently no travel restrictions between the different provinces (governorates) of the Region.

 

 

Entry from Iraq into Italy:

With the following Ordinance of the Minister of Health (in Italian), and until April 30, 2022 as per the extension by the following Ordinance of the Minister of Health (in Italian), the measures laid down in the in the ordinances issued by the Ministry of Health on 28 September 2021, 22 October 2021, 14 December 2021 and 27 January 2022 no longer apply.

In particular, the Country lists are eliminated and the rules regulating entry into the national territory are now standardized. Entry into Italy shall be authorized upon the submission of:

the Passenger Locator Form (PLF) in digital of paper format; the dPLF is available on the following website: https://app.euplf.eu/#/

the Covid-19 Vaccine Passport (vaccination certificate, recovery certificate or negative molecular or antigen test) or any other equivalent vaccination certificate recognized.

Only in case of failure to submit one of the above certifications, shall the traveller be submitted to a 5-day quarantine and obliged to take a molecular or antigen test at the end of this period.

Travel from/to the Republic of San Marino and the State of the Vatican City is not subjected to any restrictions.
