Italy is preparing to host one of the most exciting and eagerly awaited events on the international sports scene: the Olympic Winter Games (6–22 February 2026) and the Paralympic Winter Games (6–15 March 2026) of Milano Cortina 2026.
This unique event brings together sport, culture and innovation, with over 3.500 athletes from more than 90 countries competing for 195 Olympic titles, across 14 iconic venues located in Lombardy, Veneto, Trentino and Alto Adige.
The journey will begin on 6 February 2026 with the spectacular Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games at San Siro Stadium in Milan: “Armonia”, a visually striking and emotionally powerful show that will celebrate Italian identity through art and innovation, music, design, technology and beauty, inspired by the genius of Leonardo da Vinci and other great inventors, and by the timeless creativity of our country.
The Olympic competitions will take place in some of Italy’s most iconic and breathtaking locations:
- Milan, for figure skating, speed skating, short track, and ice hockey;
- Cortina d’Ampezzo, for curling, bobsleigh, skeleton, luge and women’s alpine skiing;
- Valtellina, with Bormio hosting men’s alpine skiing and the Olympic debut of ski mountaineering, and Livigno for snowboard and freestyle;
- Anterselva, for biathlon;
- Val di Fiemme, for cross-country skiing, ski jumping and Nordic combined;
- Verona Arena, which will host the Closing Ceremony of the Olympic Games and the Opening Ceremony of the Paralympic Games.
