As part of the 2022 Rome-MED Dialogues the Italian Institute for International Policy Studies (ISPI), in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, has launched the fourth edition of the “Youth Forum Contest”.
This year the contest will be a call for papers, in which talented young people in the MENA region can propose policy recommendations in the area of climate cooperation between the two sides of the Mediterranean.
The initiative seeks to respond to the two key objectives of the COP26 in Glasgow and the upcoming COP27 in Sharm-el-Sheikh: mitigating climate change and developing adaptation policies. Candidates will be asked to present structured policy briefs that respond to these objectives. Those whose contributions are judged to be the best will be invited to attend the “Youth Forum – Youth Policy Lab for Climate Action” on 1 December, where they will be able to discuss their proposals. The most innovative solutions that come out of this exercise will be the basis for a Youth Project for Climate Action for the Mediterranean.
Applicants must be 21-35 years old, hold a university degree or equivalent, be from a North African, Middle Eastern or European country (see the full list at the link below) and have an excellent level of English.
The evaluation criteria, instructions for applying and additional information are available at https://med.ispionline.it/youth-forum-2022/. The deadline for application is 18 September 2022.
