Today, for the start of the second school term, the Embassy organises a morning of activities and games at the Saint Joseph primary school in Baghdad, featuring the little dog Pimpa, an iconic Italian comic strip character born from the imagination of F. Tullio-Altan. Furthermore, copies of the book ‘Pimpa travels to Italy’ in Arabic were distributed to the young readers.
The book is the result of a collaboration between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) and the Franco Cosimo Panini publishing house. Pimpa sets off on a journey to discover our country and its extraordinary variety of territories, highlighting its artistic, historical, natural and gastronomic heritage.
The project, aimed at encouraging reading and stimulating curiosity towards our country and culture, was warmly welcomed by the school director, the teachers and the more than 200 children participating.
