Ambassador Fontana visits Kurdistan

Ambassador Fontana, invited by Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, traveled to Iraqi Kurdistan Region from March 18 to 21, to participate together with Consul General Sansone in the celebrations for Newroz. The dialogue with the Kurdish authorities confirmed the great appreciation for Italy and the utmost interest in further qualifying bilateral relations at all levels, especially in the economic field. The occasion was also fruitful to meet Italian NGOs engaged in humanitarian cooperation and development in Iraq and to greet the Italian military contingent engaged in the Prima Parthica mission at Camp Singara Base, on the occasion of the donation of 4 thousand vials of Vitamin D to the KRI Ministry of Health.
