The Italian conversation online courses for Beginners (A1 and A2 levels) promoted by the Embassy, in collaboration with the Dante Alighieri Society, have started at University of Baghdad. The program consists in two modules of six hours each involving first and second-year BA students of Italian, for a total of around fifty participants. Classes are led by Dr. Alessandra Olevano (PhD in Linguistics), a qualified teacher of Italian as a foreign language.
The initiative – a first for the Embassy, following the course promoted in 2024 by the Consulate General in Erbil – is part of the cultural diplomacy activities carried out by the Italian diplomatic network in the region, and meets the growing demand for opportunities to discover Italian culture and language among the younger Iraqi generations.
