The Italian Ambassador of Iraq, Niccolò Fontana, met with the Minister of Oil of the Republic of Iraq, Bassim Al-Abadi, for an in-depth exchange of views on the prospects of Iraq’s energy sector and on opportunities for economic cooperation with Italy.
During the meeting, developments in the national energy sector were reviewed, with particular attention to infrastructure and hydrocarbon export routes.
Ambassador Fontana and Minister Al-Abadi also discussed new investment and cooperation opportunities for Italian companies, confirming their shared interest in further strengthening the economic and oil industrial partnership between Italy and Iraq in a sector of primary strategic importance.
