In order to have a passport issued, please send to the Embassy a signed and complete application together with a copy of the old expired passport (or, if this was lost or stolen, a form for denouncing the loss or theft).
If you have kids below 18 years of age, you will also need an authorization signed by your husband/wife, together with a copy of his/her passport or other valid ID, both for issuing a new passport to the kids AND for issuing a new passport to yourself.
All of the above can be sent by email: ambasciata.baghdad@esteri.it
If you are not a resident in Iraq (subscribed to AIRE) the Embassy will then require the necessary authorization for the issuing of the passport to the relevant authorities in Italy.
Once the authorization is received, you will be contacted for an appointment to the Embassy. You should then bring:
- the originals of the forms above, forwarded by email
- 2 photos
- 120 Euros
The passport will then be issued in one only step at your fixed appointment date without any further delay or need for a second visit.
You can find all the relevant forms at the “Forms” section of this website:
- application for request of a passport
- authorization for issuing a passport to one’s husband/wife (in case of sons or daughters below 18 years of age)
- authorization of one’s husband/wife for issuing a passport to one’s sons/daughters (if below 18 years of age)
- form for declaration of passport loss/theft
Please note that since 26 june 2012, Italian minors will need their own passport (or other accepted ID valid for travel in the particular country in question) and no longer be listed on the parents’ passports.
